Reports to: Global HSEQ Manager + dotted line to Well Operations Manager

Our client, a London E&P Operator, is part of one of the world’s largest investor-owned energy services providers who are on track to becoming the world’s leading power and gas company, with annual sales of just under EUR90 billion and c.100,000 employees. Active in both electricity and gas, they are pursuing an integrated business model across the entire value chain, from power generation and gas production to distribution and customer sales. In terms of gas production, the company has an aggressive target to obtain up to 20% of its gas supplies for the pan-European market from its own production fields. As such, its upstream business undertakes gas extraction from the UK and Norwegian North Sea, as well as Russia and other areas internationally. Due to increased workload, they now need to recruit an HSEQ Advisor

Purpose: To provide a competent and proactive service to the Well Operations Manager and function (staff and contractors) to ensure the HSEQ risk is understood and mitigations are put in place in a timely and economical fashion. The role will provide a full portfolio of services outlined in the Key Accountabilities below and including permits planning & management and offshore/contractor HSEQ audits, as well as provide assistance to the Global Manager on UK & International issues

Key Accountabilities:

* The provision of proactive HSEQ advice and services to staff and contractors
* Ensure HSEQ risks associated with the work are systematically identified and mitigated
* Developing a proactive HSEQ culture and assisting the Group Manager in establishing a ‘centre of excellence’ for the HSEQ function within E&P
* Ensure contractors are systematically assessed and managed to achieve excellent performance
* Leadership in terms of emergency and contingency management and a member of the Emergency Response Team
* Management of HSEQ expert contractors for specific workscopes as well as provide supervision for other HSEQ staff as and when appropriate
* The implementation and execution of company procedures and policies
* Continuous improvement of Operational and BU HSEQ management systems and processes
* Communicating the HSEQ goals and objectives to the Business Unit and ensure staff and the contracting organisations deliver excellent HSEQ performance
* The competent point of contact for external Regulatory Authorities and other stakeholders and the positive management of these relationships
* Assisting the Global HSEQ Manager with provision of support to the broader BU and other MU’s e.g. in developing processes and procedures
* Provide a training resource as required

Person Spec

* Degree qualified in appropriate subject with NEBOSH Diploma or competent equivalent
* Excellent Communication and influencing skills – ability to work and liaise and advise across all levels of staff, from offshore to Board level to Government
* Self-motivated with a passion for HSEQ and continual professional development
* Organised, task driven, with good planning and supervisory skills
* Proactive & Assertive
* Membership of IOSH & Registered Safety Practitioner (RSP)
* Proven relevant HSEQ experience with an emphasis on well operations
* Offshore survival and medical certificates
* Team-player, sharing ideas and learning with others
